Happy last day of the quarter!

A lot is happening at Jade! We’ve got new faces on the team, big updates to our developer training, changes coming to JUG, and an important end-of-support reminder. Here’s what you need to know.

Meet Our New Team Members 

We’re thrilled to introduce some new faces joining the Jade team!

Ben Nicholson – Ben recently completed his studies in Computer Science at the University of Otago, with a strong foundation in Java and expertise spanning relational databases to cloud computing. Outside of work, he serves as a reservist combat medic in the Royal NZ Army Medical Corps, honing his skills as a first responder.

Toby Govin-Fowler – Toby graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2024 with a BSc in Computer Science. This is his first software role, but he’s been passionate about software development in his spare time, particularly admiring open-source contributions like the Linux kernel and GNU projects. Outside of work, Toby has a deep appreciation for music across many genres and enjoys playing the clarinet and saxophone.

Sofonias Tekele Tesfaye – Sofonias joined us in early 2024 as a Quality Assurance Engineer, making key contributions to one of our major customers. As of January 1st, he has transitioned into the Jade Platform Engineering team as a Graduate Software Engineer.

We’re excited to have them on board and look forward to seeing their impact!

Jade User Group – A New Approach

Big changes are coming to JUG 2025!

This year, the event will take place mid-winter, we’re bringing the event to Christchurch and introducing a new format. We’ll be sharing more details soon,
so keep an eye out for updates!

Reminder: R2020 Support Ends November 2025

If your systems are still running on Jade 2020 (R2020), now’s the time to plan ahead. Support ends in November 2025, and if you need an extension, please reach out to us as soon as possible to discuss options by emailing us at support@jadeplatform.com.
